"Nice products poor service"
I ordered 2 items but immediately realized I made a mistake. I tried to cancel within 1 minute of pressing submit but got a message saying thT was impossible. I contacted customer service within another minute and was told I would have to weight on shipments and then return. After over a week one item came in and I processed the return. There I found out I would have to pay for return shipping. So I did. Another week went buy and the second item came in. Same outcome. Now after another week still no refund. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
"Absolute Scam"
The product was mislabeled on the site (the site said Medium sized, but they sold me XL) and though I immediately realized the error (within seconds) and canceled the order, the company refused to cancel it and refund my money.

"Horrible customer service"
Horrible customer service. After you place an order and ask what would be a simple question with other companies, like when is an item going to ship (that's been on order for almost three weeks and past it's original ship date. They say they will contact the company they use for the item but you never hear back, so either they can't contact them for some reason or they don't want to. They literally can't do anything about your order after it is placed. They bill your credit card as soon as you order unlike reputable online companies. After they get the order they kind of don't care anymore. I see they have many bad reviews online, just wished I had checked BBB before I ordered from them. Stay away and buy from a reputable company that can tell you what is happening with your order.

"Terrible in every way"
1) I have shopped online at many website and used PayPal, so I know how it works. At Grommet, I never got a chance to see the shipping charges and tax details, or use my promised 10% off for signing up. I was also not able to choose my shipping address. They automatically charged everything and sent the item to my billing address.
2) There was no contact information on the website. The only way I could contact them was because PayPal happened to have their phone and email address.
3) When I emailed them, right after the order was placed, their convenient answer was that the order had already gone to their shipping center so the address cannot be changed. This is unlikely since I doubt that anyone is working on Sundays to fulfill and order. I'm sure someone could have stopped the shipping.
4) Their return policy basically says you will be responsible for shipping, so even if I got a full refund, I would lose the shipping money.
5)Once I received the item, I was just going to give up and forward the box to the gift recipient myself. But I couldn't do that because they had packed the item so poorly that the sharp blade of the garden tool had punctured the box and was sticking out by an inch. If I had shipped it like that, either the item would have gotten damaged or it would have hurt someone. I was forced to open to box to discover that this tool had been placed in an improper size box, with a piece of bubble wrap just thrown on top of it, which could not do anything. I couldn't even wrap it properly. Now I will have to buy a new box and proper wrapping material.
6)To add insult to injury, I found out that they wrongfully taxed the shipping charge. The tax rate in their home state is 6%. In my state it's 8%. They charged me 9.4%.
7)Since their customer service is essentially nonexistent, I think I will be just wasting my time trying to do anything about this.

"Frustrating, Time-Consuming Experience"
The idea of helping small businesses promote themselves outside of Amazon is a good one. Alas, the reality is you're dealing with too many variables and a huge disconnect when it comes to communication. It took me many weeks, calls and emails to receive everything I ordered and paid for (over $300 in two orders) This is not a company I would buy anything from again.
"Be warned"
The Grommet provides access to many wonderful products. However, some are manufactured outside of the US and therein lies the problem. If you really love the product you buy through The Grommet, and something breaks and you need to repair or replace a part, you may have a problem being able to purchase those parts. It is difficult to provide support for every product offered, no question. But when a product is produced in another country, this is not obvious on the website and the implications of that are not disclosed. I solved my problem by just buying another one, but that was not my first or preferred choice. The product I purchased through The Grommet was a wonderful version of the French press made in the UK by the small company named Degono.

"Worst customer service"
I ordered a product that I wanted to return. I lost my confirmation email with the order # and couldn't find a packing slip in the box. Tried calling different phone numbers. No one answers. One number I was told was offline and the other I was asked to leave a msg and someone would return my call... never got that call! Worst $200 spent

"Positive experience"
I ordered 3 items from The Grommet and then read the negative reviews on this website and I wanted to come back and say that I had a very positive experience with the company. I decided to purchase items from the Grommet because I know it supports small businesses and each item is shipped from each of those individual sellers. If there is an issue, its with these individual sellers and not necessarily the company itself. All my items arrive a few days after I ordered them and they are great. I like the fact that "The Grommet" Is helping small business owners, not sure of what percentage they take but my experience with the website was great.

"Bad Customer Service, Rip Off!"
Paid for two items, only received one, phone number doesn't connect, no response from customer service. How do they stay in business with this kind of service... Don't buy from them!

"Unique products, my CS experience very good"
Wow, lots of negative reviews for The Grommet's customer service. My experience with them was very good. Ordered my products which all arrived. But one (pillowcase with mulitple layers) wasn't sewn properly and had come apart. I took a picture of it, logged an "other" request (you can log a return request but have to use Other for a replacement request). I also then sent a picture of the item to customer service email. It did take them 5 days to get back to me but a replacement was ordered the next day. I offered to return the damaged item and they told me to keep it or dispose of it.
I do love the unique items they sell and the fact that they support small businesses.

"They'll take your money and lie to you"
The Grommet took my order, charged my credit card, and then never delivered a thing. I sent two e-mails asking about the status and they never replied. Finally, after almost a month, I got through to someone at their *******140 number.
The person I talked to flat-out lied, claiming The Grommet had canceled my order the day after I placed it, had sent me e-mail to notify me, and had refunded my money.
It wasn't until the day after that call that The Grommet actually issued a refund and sent an e-mail saying the items were out of stock. Clearly, if I had not finally gotten someone on the phone, The Grommet was going to ignore my e-mails and keep my money forever.

"The Grommet Steals Your Money"
I actually ordered a few items from the Grommet for Christmas gifts. I ordered 2 of one item which was over $35/each. They simply marked on the delivery that two were in the box and charged me for two, however, only sent one. I have reached out via email at least four times (because no one is in the office due to COVID) and they have said they would refund the money, but just simply do not do it. This is stealing and so wrong on so many levels.

"No one will get back to you..."
I returned an item in early December as it did not look as nice in person. I followed all the instructions on the website and sent it back. My item has been sitting in Warsaw IN since December 14,2020. My money has not be refunded. I have emailed twice regarding this and called countless times to try to talk to someone. Apparently the entire company has closed down regarding returns and customer service due to the current health situation, however they can still ship things out? Regarding my return I am also getting back less then what I paid, with no explanation. Do not order from this company, the merchandise looks cheap and no one will get back to you.
